Some (most?) owners of HAQ watches like the IAHH design since you don't have to hack the watch when DST changes. I tend to see less misalignment in the hour hand as the movement takes over the hour hand advance. I noticed, in my Swatch-built products, it's best to over-advance the hour by 1 tick then backtrack 1 hr. I will warn it's not a precise click, like a date change, there is some slop involved. mark, it should advance to the mid-point between the tick marks. For example, if I advance it when the minute hand is on the "12", the hour hand should advance to the precise spot pointing to the hour. So, what you see (and feel in the crown) is the hour hand will 'click' into place no matter where the minute hand is located, to the approximate location between tick marks. Plus, it's also not a smooth operation in the hour hand like you see when you hack the movement for the minute hand, you can feel a detention/click for each hour advance (or when you move backward). In the independently adjusted hour-hand design (IAHH), it moves the hour hand instead in discrete ticks but it has some slop, it's not a firm "click in place" like the date.

In most watches the 1st position in the crown will move the date. With my two Citizens it is purely electronic/motor driven. Click to expand. The movement is designed to move the hour hand, in the case of my 2 Swatch-branded models (Omega Aqua Terra 8500, Certina DS-2), in the place of the date function, and it's a mechanical coupling in these two watches.
